Trip to the Tate Britain

Tuesday July 6, 2010

Mommy took me to the Tate Britain today to see a show called Rude Britannia. Which apparently she thinks is perfectly appropriate for children, despite the ubiquity of penises. I thought that part was a bit of a yawn, though I liked the huge statue of the fattest woman I have ever seen. Like, WICKED FAT. There were also cartoons and some political stuff I didn’t understand. I’ve got to start keeping up with the news.
Then we went to a fancy restaurant in Mayfair called Tempo. They’d never had a baby in there before! I was the first one! It was very posh, with fancy cloth chairs and tablecloths (fun to pull on!) Mommy tied me to a chair with my special travel “Sack and Seat” and fed me carrots and spinach and porridge and everyone was extremely nice to me. Mommy’s friend Michelle met us for lunch and they talked lots about books and journalism while I talked lots about my friend Bob. Bob Bob Bob! Bob Bob! The owner of the restaurant kept coming over to pat me, and said I was their youngest patron ever. Mommy said I was exceedingly well behaved and good company in general. Michelle thought so too! Michelle had wet hair. I think she’d been swimming! I want to go swimming.
I miss Lloyd and Shelley. They always talked to me when we stayed with them in Salisbury last week, and Shelley gave me ducks! Lots of little colored ducks for my bath! So now I play with them every night and chew on them lots. Delicious!
